A Large Wood Burner May Release Harmful Particulates Into the Air
Wood burners are great to heat rooms, but new data suggests that they release harmful pollutants into the air. These tiny particles known as PM2.5 - have been associated with lung and heart issues as well as dementia.

The Chilli Penguin Defrost
As the name suggests the 4.7kW stove is designed to defrost the windows after a wintry walk or cook a family dinner. This Ecodesign and DEFRA exempt Stovax product uses a new clean-burn system that incorporates three different features to achieve its excellent efficiency. Combining secondary heat retention glazing, combustion jets and air flow diverts helps to keep the internal temperature high which results in a more complete combustion of gasses that fuel the engine. This reduces harmful emissions, and also reduces the amount of particulates emitted into the air.
The result is a highly efficient stove that also benefits from an impressively large glass window that really lets you see the fire from inside. There are a variety of coloured handles and a chrome pedestal that is curved to match your interior. This top-loading stove comes with a large flat surface for placing kettles and pans.
The Pengiun as with all Stovax stoves, has passed all necessary tests and inspections. It can only be used to burn wood and smokeless fuels that have been approved by DEFRA. If you were to burn non-approved fuels, you could be fined up to PS1,000 per hour for the amount of particulates released into the atmosphere.
